Weaponless self-defence

JÔDO

The art of Takeda Ryu stick fighting using sticks/staffs (jo/bo) of different lengths comprises hitting, kicking and blocking techniques as well as locks, throws and immobilization techniques.

KEMPOJUJITSU

Flexibility, speed and supreme body control are the characteristics of this breathtaking martial art which dispenses with the use of weapons, but is nevertheless not unarmed as the art involves the use of arms and legs as exceptionally effective weapons.

Free form of combat

for attacking and defending based on Takeda Ryu Sobudo; basically a method of unarmed combat, however including the use of almost any available weapon if possible.

SOBU KENDO

Fencing, also named Sobukendo,
part of Takeda Ryu swordsmanship,
comprises strategic fencing exercises, which also include throws, as well as ancient Kenjutsu (Tachikendo)


ABOUT US

Today's Samurai. 



Takeda Ryu is one of the oldest Japanese martial art schools from the 12th century.
High-ranking Samurai were trained there to provide personal guards for the emperor.



Nowadays, the practice of these martial arts tends to develop mastery of conflict situations, as well as an alert and aware mind, a capacity for bodily resistance, a strong will, a positive attitude to life, tolerant thoughts and good deeds. To be a confident stable authentic and genuine person who can master its own mind. 



The martial arts of the Takeda school are united under a single discipline: SOBUDO. Whether in learning weapons or different approaches to unarmed combat, the teaching of this school aims to provide complete training for its practitioners in all disciplines.

FÛRINKAZAN


Fūrinkazan is a Japanese saying,
which literally means Wind, Forest, Fire, and Mountain

it is a popularized version of the battle standard used by the Sengoku period daimyō Takeda Shingen. The banner quoted four phrases from Sun Tzu's The Art of War: 



 Swift like the wind.
